My name is Jess Nilsen and I am a Chicagoland photographer who has a passion for event and portrait photography. My ability to become one with my surroundings allows for me to capture the energy of the moment in a way that feels raw and genuine and my experiences with performing and modeling offer me unique insight as to what it’s like to be in the shoes of the subjects I am capturing. With 2 years of freelance experience and 1 year of studio experience, I have worked through a diverse range of people and environments. From festivals to families, I use and gain knowledge every shoot I go out on and carry that with me to always strive for the best possible outcome. I value authenticity, comfortability, and creativity. To work alongside creatives of all sorts is invigorating and inspires me to put all I have to offer on the table for others to see.
